Sitting on the park bench
Just waiting, waiting
For something, someone.
With earphones on,
Time passes by slowly-
Much too slowly
As you can hear your thoughts.
(this sweet, melancholy music.)
Your playlist knows this (trust me.)
Music plays -just over and over-
In your head
Your soul.
Songs about
Friendship and fun.
And now you know
These summer days
Are still early, very early.
Love and kisses and gifts
Late nights spent
Talking to that someone.
These days, wonderful
Beautiful summer days-
We hope to never end.
Oh, but all days must
End.
And your playlist, (set at random)
It knows this.
And it plays,
How strangely, strangely it plays
That last song of heartbreak.
But that's just a song.
Too bad love doesn't have
Earphones that you can /just/
-oh, how simple would it be?-
Take off.
Just waiting, waiting
For something, someone.
With earphones on,
Time passes by slowly-
Much too slowly
As you can hear your thoughts.

seen, never heard.
So;
you're freshly fourteen and today sees you back bent and sweat-plastered, shovel exposing more and more dried earth.
-
So;
the world doesn't love the ugly ones, the forgotten ones, the lonely ones. The world doesn't like the people that fall through the cracks. You're two years old, but with that eyes-too-close, head-too-big look, the world already hates you.
-
So;
your parents won't let you go out with the other kids in the neighbourhood? So they fight at night - when you're three, till you're twenty-three - and all you can hear is your name on their lips, screamed like the worst profanity and cracked on every bit of furniture in

I Want a World
I want a world,
Without all the hating
Why can't we try,
To relate to the people that we see?
I want a world,
Where everybody dances
Why can't we all,
Just raise our voices and sing?
I want a world,
Full of second chances
Because we don't know,
Just what tomorrow might bring
I want a world!
Full of opportunity,
Where how high you go,
Can only be measured by the sky!
If for one second,
We could stop screaming,
I really think,
That everyone could fly!
I want a world,
Where joy runs rampant
Because everyone can see,
The light of love that's in our eyes
I want a world,
Without all the pleading
Because it hurts,
To see h

What Have We Come To?
What's one supposed to do,
When we know it's all around us?
Everywhere you turn:
Romance, call each other "mine,"
Days named after suicides,
Insecure, armed with knives,
Guns come out as quick as high-fives.
It seems we give no thought to those,
Who wander the street, no family, no home,
Haunted by the broken past,
No one knows how long they'll last.
Another smuggling, another theft,
Another murder, another death.
Not surprised to hear what's wrong,
The ticking of another bomb.
They don't watch through those red lights,
Could this turn into another street fight?
Watch the news about the war,
Who knows what we're even fightin

I'm just trying out a new style, and this topic came to me at random. I think it's alright, not my best work, but it's alright.
The format's kind of weird, I know.
Comments and critiques are appreciated!

I was a bit worried about the format of this, because I wanted to try something new. Is the format alright? And even if it's not, was the idea of 'music to life' portrayed well in this piece?

all i know is that you have nothing to be ashamed of, it's very well written. I think my engilsh teacher would be impressed (and not everyone's playlist lled with songs of friendship)
